DDWH President

Michael Wilson is the President of the Darling Downs Wildlife Hospital committee. He has been involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife since 2010 and has experience across a range of species. Michael is a Bachelor of Science graduate in Wildlife Management.

Our committee is made up of people from across the region who are each actively involved with wildlife care.  We have a strong representation across species and years of experience in the rescue, care and rehabilitation of wildlife.

We believe that education is key to wildlife conservation. That's why we work with local schools and community organizations to provide educational programs that teach people about the importance of wildlife conservation and how they can help protect local ecosystems.

We are fortunate to live in a region which values our wildlife and there are organisatons dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of native animals.   That's why we work with local wildlife organizations with  we are lucky to have the support of many local organizatio

We believe that collaboration is key to wildlife conservation. We are fortunate to live in a region which values our wildlife and there are organisatons dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of native animals.   That's why we work with local wildlife organizations with  we are lucky to have the support of many local organizations including WDRR, Wildlife Empire and many local vets and individual carers.

We know that supporting our regions' wildlife carers is critical to our mission.  People across the region are already dedicating their time, homes and money to the care of wildlife.  The DDWH will provide a hub of support for wildlife carers, providing medical services and critical care, ongoing treatment and rehabilitation support for t

We know that supporting our regions' wildlife carers is critical to our mission.  People across the region are already dedicating their time, homes and money to the care of wildlife.  The DDWH will provide a hub of support for wildlife carers, providing medical services and critical care, ongoing treatment and rehabilitation support for their patients.  As a center for excellence in Wildlife treatment and conservation, DDWH aims to provide our community of carers  a hub of collaboration and support

The Darling Downs community relies on the support of dedicated volunteers to rescue transport, care for, rehabilitate and release the injured and sick native animals in our region.  Volunteers are the backbone of wildlife care across Australia and our region is fortunate to have many dedicated volunteers who are passionate about wildlife
